Christie KernMSOM, L.Ac, Reiki Master Teacher, Owner
While I spent my childhood in the horse farms of Caledonia, my passion for helping people feel healthy and joyful led me to Traditional Asian Medicine. I worked in a pharmacy for a few years and always thought I wanted to be a doctor or pharmacist, but didn't see people getting better with medication, so I started looking for other ways to help. Eventually, I found Traditional Asian Medicine helped me in ways I never could have imagined, and I wanted to be part of that system of health care.
Since 2006 I've been offering sessions that help people heal using Traditional Asian Medicines like acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and Reiki among others. For 13 years I had Racine Community Acupuncture in Franksville, WI, where patients relaxed in recliners and enjoyed group healing. When that clinic closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent time really working on my personal healing. When I returned to my work, it was time to offer one on one sessions again - getting to the root of health concerns. Esoteric Acupuncture, Reiki, meditation and other energetic system work has proven to be extraordinarily effective in deep healing and inspires me to continue to learn and grow and trust my intuition. When I'm not working I'm often playing with my Newfoundland puppy and traveling. Lately I've started felting while I listen to audio books, and I love spending time by our divine Lake Michigan. |

I grew up in Chicago and graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. My graduate studies led first to a Doctoral degree in Naprapathy from the National College of Naprapathic Medicine, then a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and a Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine — all with high honors. I am licensed and board-certified in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in Wisconsin and Acupuncture, Naprapathy and Herbal Medicine in Illinois. I believe strongly in an integrative approach that effectively, compassionately, and skillfully addresses your health care needs. Solutions to illness and injury can come from many sources so I work with you to develop your care plan. I value timely risk assessment and proactive intervention using the ancient, tried and true methods of Eastern Medicine.
If you give your body the right environment, it will know how to heal itself. My purpose is to help you, our patients, to understand and act on this fundamental truth. This is the heart of complementary medicine. |
